Bittersweet season for Jackson
Vonte Jackson watched from the sidelines Friday evening as Kenosha Bradford captured its first ever WIAA state title at Camp Randall Stadium.
It was the same vantage point the 6-foot, 180-pound Wisconsin verbal commitment had since late August. After rushing for over 100 yards and two scores against Milwaukee Riverside in Bradford's season opener, Jackson tore his the ACL in his left knee, ending his highly anticipated senior season prematurely.
"It was definitely a bittersweet win yesterday because I really wanted to be out there with my teammates," Jackson told BadgerBlitz.com Saturday morning, less than 24 hours after a 7-0 win over Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln in the Division 1 state final. "But it was still an incredible experience being there on the sidelines with my whole team, the fans, student section and our whole city.
