Redshirt Review: Jeff Lockie

The Oregon Ducks are not hurting for quarterbacks. In addition to returning starter sophomore Marcus Mariota, two quality players are coming off their redshirt years to add their names to the mix. One is Jake Rodrigues the subject of an upcoming Redshirt Review. For this edition Duck Sports Authority proudly continues its annual Redshirt Review series with a look at Jeff Lockie.

Prior to his promotion to head coach in January, Mark Helfrich was offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for the Ducks. In that time he had plenty of opportunity to give the 6-foot-2, 195-pound redshirt a thorough assessment.

"Jeff is a great kid," began Helfrich. "He is one of those guys who has a little bit stronger arm than people give him credit for and he is a little more athletic than people give him credit for. When compared to Marcus he isn't going to run that 40-time and he does not have his arm strength but is a very efficient player."
