Offensive line recruiting is a numbers game where depth is critical, the foundation of a successful offense. The Ducks need four for the offensive line this year as Karrington Armstrong, Mana Greig and Everett Benyard are seniors and James Euscher gave up football due to recurring injuries.
Offensive linemen usually don't leave early but Hroniss Grasu, Jake Fisher and Tyler Johnstone are all eligible for the NFL draft. Grasu in particular would likely go in the first three rounds if he elected to leave.
A minor bombshell dropped Tuesday night when prospect Sam Jones, an offensive tackle from Colorado who visited Oregon August 31st, verbally committed to Arizona State. Over the weekend, Phoenix, Arizona product Layth Friekh, at one time a top Oregon target, chose the University of Arizona.
