Clint's Notebook--Dexter Strickland
The first few times that we were able to evaluate Dexter Strickland, it was a no-brainer that he was going to be an elite level talent in the class of 2009.
Blessed with a long 6-3 (maybe 6-4) frame, this slippery quick combo-guard has big time athleticism, a smooth handle and the polished floor game that every college coach seeks for backcourt excellence. The narrow-shouldered junior shook defenders off the bounce with excellent burst, rare acceleration and the jumping ability to finish over post players on his way to the rim. His end to end speed on the basketball court was exciting to watch -- and despite many ultra-athletic types on the hardwood, there's a difference between a fast guy who gets ahead of himself, and one who does it with skill and precision.
