February 10, 2012Oregon (17-7, 8-4) came to play Thursday night as they embarrassed Washington (16-8, 9-3) 82-57. Oregon came off a very tough road loss to Colorado on Saturday, which gave the Ducks all the more reason to bring their 'A' game tonight.
Oregon got off to a quick start as Garrett Sim connected on his first three shots of the game, including two three-pointers, to give the Ducks an early 8-0 lead.
Oregon was shooting the ball lights out in the first half. The Ducks shot 64.3 percent from the field and an outrageous 75% (6-8) from behind the arc.
Oregon continued to make shots in the first half blowing the lead open to 23 points and went into the locker room with a 49-26 lead. Oregon out rebounded Washington 21-17 in the first half while scoring 12 points off of Huskie turnovers.
Oregon continued to play well in the second half as Washington could not cut the lead any closer than 20 points.
Oregon was led by junior forward Carlos Emory who scored 16 points and added 8 rebounds. Emory brought the house down with several dunks, but with 2 minutes remaining in the game he submitted his bid for a top 10 play with a ferocious windmill dunk.
Singler, Sim, and Joseph contributed with 13 points each and Oregon was able to out rebound the PAC-12 rebound leaders 39-38.
Up next for the Ducks is their matchup on Saturday at 3 p.m. against Washington State (13-11, 5-7) who is coming off a victory tonight over Oregon State.
