Ducks will evaluate strong-legged kicker
You just can't overestimate the importance of special teams in the game of football. That part of the game, one-third of football they say, is often overlooked but not by the best coaches out there.
Daniel Carlson is one of the few kickers at the high school level that's making a splash on the national recruiting radar.
The Colorado Springs (Colo.) Classical Academy kicker has been playing soccer his entire life, as is true of many kickers, and the transition to the gridiron was made easier because of that. One reason so many schools and fans have taken notice of Carlson, who says he regularly boots 55-yard field goals or longer in practice, is because he picked up an early verbal offer from Auburn.
