Ducks offer JUCO OL
The Oregon Ducks are apparently in the market for one or two JUCO offensive linemen for the class of 2010 and once again took the steps towards landing one. The latest offer went out to one of the top offensive line prospects from the Northern California ranks and the sophomore will visit in late November.
San Francisco offensive lineman Ryan Clanton has the size and speed to play a number of positions at the next level, and Pac 10 programs are lining up for his services. With early offers from Arizona State and Texas State, Clanton recently took an official visit to Washington. The Huskies offered this past week with Oregon following suit.
"I got offers from Oregon and Washington last week," Clanton said. "I got the letter from Washington. The Oregon coaches came to watch me practice and told me they thought I would fit in well with their program."
Clanton is 6-foot-4, 305 pounds started as a freshman for the perennial power CCSF. He graduated from Bakersfield Christian High School in 2008 and was being recruited by Fresno State before failing qualify academically.
Clanton says the Pac 10 is starting to look like a reality.
"It is good to have some more Pac 10 offers," Clanton said. "I am really liking all the attention from the West Coast."
