JUCO D-Tackle has MSU offer, family ties to program

Michigan State's Top 10 defense was powered by All-American defensive tackle Jerel Worthy (Green Bay Packers) in 2011 and the Spartans expect senior Rashad White to fill the same role this season.

With White entering his senior season, the Michigan State defense will need to find an impact player to anchor the interior defensive line in 2013. Mark Dantonio and his staff have options, including several talented underclassmen on scholarship. But the Spartans are also looking beyond their own stable of developing defensive linemen to fill a position of critical need.

That is where Kyle Peko comes in.
At 6-foot-2, the 290-pound junior college standout has the size to stop the run in the Big Ten. He also possesses the quickness and agility be a disruptive presence in the backfield.
