Did mom seal the deal for Budda?

The Oregon football team scored a major commitment from one of the top recruits in the region on Friday when Bellevue (Wash.) standout Budda Baker made his decision and announced it via Twitter.

Rated as the overall No. 55 recruit in the nation and member of the prestigious Rivals100, Baker is the top-ranked college prospect in the State of Washington. The 5-foot-11, 180-pound athlete was pursued by various schools on both sides of the ball but told Duck Sports Authority last month his preference would be offense.

"If I went to Oregon I see myself as a wide receiver," said Baker.

Baker joins Phoenix (Ariz.) Mountain Pointe standout Jalen Brown as committed to the Ducks' Class of 2014 wide receiver unit. Oregon is expected to take two or three at the position this year so have the potential to add another player to assistant coach Matt Lubick's group in the six weeks left until national letter of intent signing day on February 5, 2014.
