Ducks add new name to DC search

He's won three national championships as a player and assistant coach, and he was defensive coordinator for the 2001 Miami Hurricanes, one of the most dominant units of the BCS era.

On Sunday, two Portland news stations reported that current Arkansas linebacker coach Randy Shannon is a candidate for the Oregon defensive coordinator position, open after tonight's Alamo Bowl Game following Nick Aliotti's retirement.

In 2001, Shannon's aggressive, attacking 4-3 defense allowed just 12 touchdowns all season while scoring 7.
