PSU makes a last-minute push for Roberts

Smithfield (Va.) athlete Dyrell Roberts has had his decision date of July 31 set for weeks now, and with Tuesday quickly approaching, the three-star prospect took a last-minute visit to Penn State to check out one of his favorite schools.

Roberts arrived in Happy Valley late Friday morning, and left with a scholarship offer in hand on Saturday afternoon.

The nation's No. 32-ranked running back was guided by Penn State coaches Bill Kenney and Kermit Buggs, and he got a chance to meet with legendary head coach Joe Paterno, who delivered the good news about an offer.

Virginia Tech and Penn State are his top two. Roberts mentioned that schools like North Carolina and Florida have made a late push for his services.
