USA Basketball U18 Trials has Strong Hoya Flavor

June 29, 2008 - USA Basketball has fashioned itself as a vigorous instrument in international basketball competition, fielding American teams ranging from professionals to youth that play in various worldwide competitions. Comprised of 15 member organizations and representing men and women as well as young people of both sexes, the competitions USA Basketball regularly competes in range from the Olympics to World Championships, Pan American Games, World University Games, and Under 19 World Championships/Junior National Teams. Additionally the Hoop Summit, USA Basketball Youth Development Festival and USA Basketball Select Teams are staples of the USA Basketball's effort as well.



Of particular interest to the Hoya Nation is the strong Georgetown-related footprint involved with this year's 2008 FIBA Americas U18 Men's Team, with none other then lead Hoya John Thompson III functioning as one of the team's assistant coaches, along with Virginia Commonwealth head man Anthony Grant.
