Ducks land Rivals100 RB
The Oregon football team added a key element to their Class of 2015 on Thursday when they scored the commitment from the nation's No. 2-ranked all-purpose back.
Powder Springs (Ga.) McEachern APB Taj Griffin made his announcement via Twitter.
Griffin becomes the first and likely only running back for this Oregon recruiting class and the third prospect overall, joining Mission Viejo (Calif.) Trabuco Hills TE Jacob Breeland and Newbury Park (Calif.) OG Zach Okun.
The Rivals100 member chose the Ducks over offers from more than 20 other BCS-level programs including the likes of Alabama, Georgia, Clemson and Tennessee.
On film the 5-foot-10, 176-pound athlete displays great feet and vision, coupled with outstanding football speed. Within the Oregon offense his versatility would allow him to play both at running back and slot, as well as running patterns in the receiving game out of the backfield. Returning punts and kicks is another possibility for Griffin.
No matter how you slice it, Griffin's decision to play his college football across the country on the West Coast is a big win for Oregon football as well as the Pac-12, and adds recruiting momentum to the Ducks going into the summer.
