Oregon football officially landed the first member of their class of 2016 on Monday when Memphis (Tenn.) White Station star wide receiver Dillon Mitchell announced that he had signed and submitted grant-in-aid letter.

"It is great knowing that I am officially signed," Mitchell told Duck Sports Authority after sending his papers to Oregon. "I will not be looking at any other schools than the Ducks."
For the 6-foot, 190-pound four-star prospect the official end of his recruiting process was welcome.
"I believe it is a great weight lifted off my shoulders," said Mitchell. "I was getting lots of contact from other schools. For everybody who has been contacting me, basically, there is no point in doing it anymore."
The relief was household-wide.
"Signing early made me feel better and it made my family feel better," admitted Mitchell. "But I never had any second thoughts about where I was going."
During his official visit for the Washington State game the Ducks suffered a bitter last-second defeat after leading by 10 with minutes to play.
"They kind of struggled at first and everybody had been asking me after my visit if I was going to change my mind," said Mitchell. "But you can see with Vernon (Adams) in there they are looking like the old Oregon; scoring points and stopping people."
Before long Dillon Mitchell will be a college student on the other side of the country from home.
"I have six more weeks of high school and my first day at Oregon will be January 2nd," said Mitchell. "I am excited to play at Autzen next year. I am not an entertainer but I can get everybody in the crowd into the game."
