Ducks land 4-star QB

Despite amassing a trove of offers from BCS-schools the last few months, Servite star quarterback Travis Waller did not make a decision until the team he once characterized as his 'dream school' stepped up. On Tuesday he announced his decision to attend the University of Oregon.

I am truly blessed to announce that I will be committing to the University of Oregon!!

Though the Duck offer was later than some, it was clearly soon enough.
"I was the last guy who got on their map because I did get into the game late for football when I started my junior year," Waller told Duck Sports Authority last month. "By then they already had guys on their board so he explained all that."
The 6-foot-2, 190-pound athlete becomes Oregon's tenth commitment to the Class of 2015 and the first quarterback. The addition of Waller bumped the Ducks' national recruiting ranking from No. 30 to No. 20.
Whether the pledge from the No. 5-ranked dual-threat and No. 104-overall prospect in the nation will end quarterback recruiting for the Ducks is another question. Oregon currently has three quarterbacks scheduled for scholarships on the 2014 roster, junior Marcus Mariota, sophomore Jeff Lockie and freshman Morgan Mahalak, with slots for five.
Given that Mariota is unlikely to return for the 2015 season, taking a second Class of 2015 quarterback is a distinct possibility for Oregon. Their current primary targets for that second slot would be Deondre Francois and Sam Darnold.
