Ducks lose commitment from Rivals100 WR

Oregon football suffered another setback on the recruiting front, one day after the announcement of Mario Cristobal as the new Duck head coach. Rivals100 WR Warren Thompson was the sixth prospect to decommit after Willie Taggart left for Florida State.

“I would like to thank the coaches at the University of Oregon for believing in me and my ability,” he wrote on social media. “Also, you fans you guys showed tremendous support throughout this process.

“With all this being said, I will be decommitted from Oregon and opening my recruitment back up.”

Thompson’s decision may have been widely anticipated, but it was still painful for Oregon. A growing problem for the Ducks is that of the six decommitments, five have been from receiver-types. Michael Ezeike projected at TE, Tre’Shaun Harrison, Miles Battle and Braden Lenzy at wide receiver. In fact, they currently do not have any wide receivers left committed to the Class of 2018.

The Ducks still have 19 prospects committed as they head into the Dec. 20 early signing period. With the head coaching question settled, the class should start to start to re-solidify soon.

Thompson holds an offer from Florida State and Taggart.
