Oregon (15-6, 6-3) saw their four game winning streak come to an end tonight as Oregon State (14-7, 4-5) was able to secure a Civil War road victory at Matthew Knight Arena. The Beavers defeated the Ducks 76-71 in front of a sold out crowd of over 11,200.

The game got off to a very sloppy offensive start by both teams. Oregon recorded 8 first half blocks which allowed the Ducks to take a 28-23 halftime lead.
E.J. Singler led the Ducks with 10 first half points while the rest of the team shot a combined 6-22 from the field. Oregon State's Joe Burton led the Beavers with 8 of the teams 23 first half points.
Both teams came out of the locker room shooting the ball significantly better. Oregon's Devoe Joseph was able to connect on 3 three-pointers in the span of two minutes to give Oregon a 45-39 lead with 13:18 to play.
Unfortunately for the Ducks, that was the last lead they would see all night. Oregon State's guard, Jared Cunningham, caught fire in the second half. Cunningham scored 24 points in the second half and finished the night with a game high 27 points.
Oregon found themselves trailing 61-49 with 6:55 left to play in the second half thanks to a season high 23 turnovers.
"We broke them down defensively and Devoe made some shots, but it's hard to score baskets when you're turning the ball over."
The Ducks were able to tighten up their full court pressure and force some turnovers of their own. E.J. Singler hit a three-pointer with 47.2 seconds left in the game to cut the Beavers lead to 73-70. Johnathan Loyd forced an inbound turnover to give the Ducks the ball back with 40 seconds remaining.
E.J. Singler was unable to capitalize on the turnover by missing a game tying three-pointer. Garret Sim was able track down the ball to give Oregon another opportunity at tying the game, but Oregon was not able to execute as Singler turned the ball over for the 5th time.
"I'm really disappointed that we did not execute," Altman said. "We had some awful turnovers."
Oregon was led by Devoe Joseph (26 pts., 7 rebs.) and E.J. Singler (16 pts., 4 rebs.). Joseph shot 5-9 from behind the arc while Tony Woods recorded 5 blocks.
Oregon looks to rebound from their loss next week when they travel to face Utah (5-16, 2-7) February 2nd @ 6pm.
