Jamal Hill to Oregon: "I'm done. I'm not taking anymore visits."

It was over when he took his official visit to Oregon.

Jamal Hill was at Colorado last weekend for his first official visit, and he did take a liking to the Buffalos, but the Ducks really won him over this weekend while in Eugene.

Hill really saw his recruitment take off to another level over the last month and Oregon has won out for the versatile defensive back out of Morrow, Ga.

IN HIS OWN WORDS

"Oregon has been on me for about two months and they have texted me every day to check on me and my mom," said Hill. "I knew it was real when coach Donte Williams came to my house, my school and my track practice in one day. Nobody had done anything like that, so I knew it was real with them.

"It hit me during the visit that Oregon was the right fit for me. I learned a lot about life after football during the visit and I see them setting me up for a productive life after football at Oregon. Them being a Nike school has them connected to so many big companies. How they can set me up after football is big.

"I was feeling it as the weekend went on, but Sunday is when I knew for sure that I was going to Oregon. It was definitely a family feeling. The players are great and they have one goal — to win a national championship. It is the best opportunity for me to win a championship, get a great degree and be successful after football.

"I told the coaches about my commitment before I left. They felt they did a great job recruiting me. For me, this was a long process and I am glad it is over. It was fun, but also stressful and now I feel I have a home away from home. I know I have people at Oregon who are going to care for me.

"I put a lot of work into this. I used to stay up late and pray at night. Some of my friends were getting letters in 10th grade and I was getting nothing. I just kept working hard, did what I had to do, kept working hard and it worked out for me.

"I chose Oregon and honestly, there was really no No. 2 school. The relationship I had with Oregon was different. That was big for me. I am done. I am not taking anymore visits."

RIVALS REACTION

This is a great get for Mario Cristobal and the Oregon staff. Donte Williams is the lead recruiter and the cornerbacks coach in Eugene has spent a lot of time in the south the last couple of weeks. It paid off. Hill is a very physical defensive back with size and ball skills. He loves to compete and he will take an edge from the south with him to the Pac 12. Colorado was in play and numerous others came on strong late for Hill, but the visit to Eugene was too much. Hill is a prospect that could compete for early playing time for the Ducks.
