No more questions for four-star DB Jevon Holland

Jevon Holland remained committed to Oregon but he had questions.

First-year coach Willie Taggart had just left for Florida State. The Ducks were without a coach for a few days.

For the four-star defensive back from Oakland (Calif.) Bishop O’Dowd, there were some issues he was watching closely.

And then Oregon hired assistant Mario Cristobal to the head coaching position, Holland took his official visit to Eugene this past weekend and everything has been figured out.

Holland remains fully committed to the Ducks and does not seem to be looking back - or any other schools.

“I loved it,” Holland said.

“Before coming, I was still skeptical on what direction the program was going. (Cristobal) laid out everything my parents and I needed to hear.”

Meeting with the new head coach during the official visit weekend was the game-changer for Holland, who has been committed to the Ducks since May.

Twenty other schools had offered the Bishop O’Dowd standout but Oregon was always a frontrunner.

“Coach Cristobal is the truth,” Holland said. “I love the man’s drive and motivation.”
