Blessed to say that I have committed the next chapter of my life of being a student-athlete to the University of Oregon #stayfaithful #WTD- Bryson T. Young (@blackhawk32698) October 11, 2015
In Young the Ducks are getting a speedy and athletic 6-foot-5, 220-pound frame they have coveted for their outside linebacker positions. Though rated as the No. 19 WDE in the nation, at Oregon the plan for his would be to play the strongside outside linebacker position as currently manned by Christian French.
Young visited the Ducks for the weekend of 9/25 for the Utah game and reported an outstanding visit. The Sunday announcement was somewhat earlier than expected as Young had told Duck Sports Authority that he planned to commit after his season.
Young joins Lamar Winston as outside linebacker commits to Oregon's class of 2016 and becomes the 15th member of the class. The Ducks now are about 2/3 done for this recruiting cycle and may yet still add another linebacker to the group.
Young chose the Ducks over Arizona State, Michigan, Tennessee and UCLA amongst numerous other scholarship offers.
