LOS ANGELES - KJ Trujillo had talked with Oregon’s coaches early in his recruitment and then the Ducks offered last week.

It was huge. A dream offer for the Anaheim (Calif.) Servite three-star defensive back.

“I had a little bit of contact with them before,” Trujillo said at the recent Premium Showcase.

“They just said they were evaluating my film and continuing to evaluate it. (Assistant coach) Donte (Williams) was in contact with some of my coaches and he DM’ed me to call him and I called him and that’s when they offered.

“He’s really cool. I’ve been cool with him since he was at Nebraska. We have a really cool relationship.”

So far, Trujillo has been offered by Colorado, Nevada, Oregon, San Jose State and Utah State.

Getting an offer from the Ducks was definitely huge.

“That’s a dream offer for me,” Trujuillo said. “Since I was little, growing up, watching Chip Kelly coach there, watching DeAnthony Thomas. I just fell in love with them from a young age so it was really exciting and emotional to get that offer.”

Two schools stand out most to Trujillo at this point.

“I still have a lot of interest in Colorado so right now it’s between (Oregon) and Colorado at the top,” Trujillo said.

Arizona, Arizona State and TCU are showing new interest in Trujillo, who said he wants to take unofficial trips to his two favorites in the coming months.

“I’m looking to set some unofficials to Colorado and Oregon so I could experience what it’s like while they’re in school,” Trujillo said. “I know we can start scheduling officials in April so from there I’ll probably start scheduling some officials.”
