LOS ANGELES - Kyle Ford is busy with baseball season and offseason football but the four-star receiver is looking at some important visits in the coming months.

The Orange (Calif.) Lutheran standout said at the recent Premium Showcase that he wants to see Penn State, Michigan and Notre Dame soon and a trip to Oregon is also possible.

“I’m trying to get a feel for what it’s like out there, even the weather and during the offseason,” Ford said. “I just want to see the atmosphere out there. I’m pretty interested in them so it’s always good to go check out some new schools.

“When you go out somewhere, you want to have a home-feeling type of atmosphere. You want to be cool with some of the teammates because those are the people you’re going to be out there with. That’s a big thing for me. The atmosphere, the weather, just everything, take everything in.”

The four-star receiver said Michigan, Notre Dame and Colorado are recruiting him the hardest early on but that he remains open to all programs.

“That’s pretty much it right now and I know I’m missing some,” Ford said.

Those visits should happen before the Orange Lutheran prospect starts his senior season.

USC, UCLA and other programs will also be seriously considered as things move forward. He said Arizona State and Washington State have been showing the most new interest.
