As the Oregon Ducks begin their preparation for the USC Trojans, Duck Sports Authority caught up with offensive coordinator Mark Helfrich to get his thoughts on his team's last performance and to look ahead to Saturday's matchup with the USC Trojans.
On the Stanford win

That was a great game. Two teams fighting hard, two very talented teams, two very hungry teams. It was a great environment with GameDay and the crowd. I though our crowd was tremendous, the representation and their noise level was awesome. Our guys ground it out. The defense played great, the special teams played great, just a hard-fought win.
On the offensive line performance against the Cardinal
We can play a lot better and that's the good thing. The production that we had at times, the big-play capability showed at times. But we can play a lot better. And that goes everywhere; we can coach better. Those guys came out and responded well today. Obviously when you flip on the film and see USC it's a huge challenge that slaps you in the face. The guys are redirected and we're getting prepared for USC.
On the fact that the Ducks won without playing great football
I think win or lose what we try to do is address it, correct it, learn from it and flush it and move on to the next deal whether it's good or bad, that's just another little chink in your armor experience-wise. I think our guys definitely saw some plays that were out there, some assignment things we missed or technique things that we can improve upon. Our guys are pretty cagey that way. They are awesome to coach because they try really hard, they want to get better; and good or bad they learn from it and move on.
