HoopHall Classic: Five-star Emmitt Williams talks final three

Emmitt Williams

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. -- Unsigned five-star power forward Emmitt Williams unleashed fury on the rims at the HoopHall Classic Saturday night.

The senior at Orland (Fla.) Oak Ridge finished with 18 points and 11 rebounds in a in over Roselle (N.J.) Catholic and five-star big man Nazreon Reid.

"I think I played great today it was good to come up here and play in a great tournament like the HoopHall, I hope to be in it one day the Hall of Fame," said Williams. "It was great going against Naz. I've been knowing him since like the seventh grade so it was great to see how we've both developed our skills."

Williams also confirmed that he's down to a final three of Florida, LSU and Oregon.

"I'm down to Florida, LSU and Oregon," said Williams. "I don't know yet (if I will take official visits), right now I'm just going with the flow."

Williams broke down what he likes about each of his three finalists.

Florida: "Florida is like one of my first offers plus I'm from Florida. Coach White is a great coach, he's always been in my ear with great conversation and coach Mincy is a good guy. One of my former teammates goes there, Isaiah Stokes, he was great and I can't wait to see his freshman year, he's been in my ear. One of my other teammates Keyontae Johnson just committed there so they've been telling me about it."

LSU: "What stands out is it is a great team and coach Wade is a heck of a coach for what he's doing this year with the team is magnificent. The players on my visit I had a magnificent time with them off the court and I saw them practice and they go after it."

Oregon: "Oregon was great, I'd never really been that far on that side of the country and the weather was great. All the Nike stuff is crazy plus i met the owner of Nike and should his hand and had a conversation with him so that was great."

In October, Williams was arrested on sexual battery charges but has been cleared of everything in the case. He's not discussing the situation and is focusing on basketball but there will be no remaining issues from the case.

As for a timetable for making a decision, Williams says there's nothing set and stone and he's just waiting for a sign of what to do.

"When the man above tells me, that's when I'm gonna go."
