Impressive visitor list for Oregon-Virginia

Size goes first this week as the majority of the officially visiting recruits will be extra-large this weekend. Three big fellas will be helping fill the stands in Autzen during the Virginia game and all three are heavily recruited at a position the Ducks are looking to add one or two more in the class of 2017.

Safety is another position where Oregon is looking to land at least one more for this recruiting cycle. This week they will host a visitor from Michigan who could fill that slot. And this one hails from a high school that sent another athlete the Ducks’ way.

“My alumni-brother Dior Mathis went there,” Jaylen Kelly-Powell told Duck Sports Authority following his offer. “He told me everything about it and how great it is, how the coaches really care about you, that they will do anything to help you succeed in life. He told me great things that I would like to see for myself.”

This weekend he will get his chance.

At least one committed Duck will be on his official visit as well up from Chula Vista. So far in two games this year, C.J. Verdell has 389 yards on 30 carries including seven touchdowns.

In addition to the football prospects, Dana Altman will have a couple key Class of 2017 basketball recruits in town for the weekend.

Official visitors will not be the only recruits at Autzen Stadium. There will as always be unofficial visitors. Among them will be a local product who is very close to a Duck offer himself.

Check in with Duck Sports Authority during and after Saturday night's game for a final list of actual visitors as well as post visit interviews upon their return home.
