Oregon offer big for 2018 Calabasas WR

On Sunday, new Oregon head coach Willie Taggart made a scholarship offer but he does not expect an answer soon. Calabasas (Calif.) standout wide receiver Nikko Hall has more than a year to sign his letter of intent with the Class of 2018, but already has accumulated four premier offers.

The Ducks joined UCLA, USC and Nebraska as members of the early interest club for the 6-foot-2, 180-pound athlete.

“Coach Jimmie offered,” Hall confirmed. “Talking to coach Jimmie I knew he was going to be straight forward and honest with me and that's what I like.”

Despite offers from two solid schools much closer to home, his newest is still very welcome.

“Being offered by Oregon is a big one to me because I always wanted to have the opportunity to play at Oregon and win a Rose Bowl.”

Fortunately for Taggart and his new staff, the rising junior prospect’s impression of the Ducks does not include last years’ 4-8 performance.

“Oregon has been dominating the Pac-12 every year,” said Hall. “They spread the ball around to all of their receivers. Oregon puts their players in the best positions for them to develop and win. And that's what I like about them.”

And where does all this place the Ducks at this early juncture of his recruitment?

“Top two, no doubt,” he answered.

The other school in his early top group has a big advantage as Calabasas high school is only about 25-miles as the crow flies from Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, about three-hours in traffic.

“USC stands out to me the most,” Hall admitted. “But I'm really convinced that Oregon can blow my mind and make want to become a Duck.”

Willie Taggart and the new Oregon staff will have an opportunity to do exactly that over the next year.
