Oregon visit list short but sweet for UC-Davis
The list of officially visiting recruits will not be long this weekend as Oregon kicks off its 2016 season against UC-Davis. What lacks in quantity is made up for in quality as the two prospects scheduled to be in Eugene are both highly recruited athletes.
Phillips will be on his first official visit this weekend and is not very likely to make his decision in the near future. After this for the Nashville-area star will be trips to Oklahoma, Notre Dame, Alabama and LSU, all coming in the next five Saturdays. After that is when he will likely make his choice.
“I think October the 8th is the sixth week, and then I will probably make my decision,” Phillips told Duck Sports Authority at the Rivals Five Star Challenge in Atlanta.
“I have a lot of interest,” said Phillips of Oregon at the June event. “My interest first picked up when they offered me with Coach Chinander. Now that he is gone it is Coach Pellum and Coach Hoke. They came by the school and that showed me a lot for them to come see me. I think highly of Oregon.”
Prognosis: Oregon obviously faces tough competition and there is always the worry that the memories and feelings from early trips will not be as fresh and strong at decision time. But the trip, which he says he will make with his family, could also seal the deal.

Terrell has the type of frame that college teams covet with great length to complement his good speed and athleticism. The trip to Oregon from Georgia could be a decisive one as he plans to make his decision soon afterwards.
"I'm close to the end of it," Terrell told Rivals site GamecockCentral.com last month. "I want to take one more visit to Oregon and if everything goes to plan then I will be ready to come out with it."
Prognosis: The way that Terrell has specified that he wanted to take this official visit to Eugene before making his choice could be coincidence. Or it could be a very good omen for Matt Lubick and company.
