Recruiting impact: UW visitors

The Oregon Ducks appear to have an important recruiting weekend lined up. Four members of the class of 2013 have indicated that when Washington comes to Eugene on Saturday for the 7:30pm game, they could be in the stands watching.

Committed players: RB Dontre Wilson (Oregon), OLB Torrodney Prevot (USC)

The impact of Wilson's visit should not be overly large at the end of his trip. The Ducks never have disappointed visitors from across the country in the last several years, particularly on game days. The student section is aware of their presence and the love is felt, and often delivered in the midst of a dynamic Oregon win. The visit will likely reinforce his decision in many respects.

Many times the Duck staff, through both just necessities of scheduling and perhaps by design, has committed recruits like Wilson attend on visit weekends along with uncommitted. This is a good thing. While the group of recruits is in the stand watching, they are hanging out with other peers who they respect. Clearly committed recruits will be amongst the best salesmen in the stadium.

Prevot visiting is uncertain and his attendance would not surprise either way. Could a trip change his mind? Anything is possible, and the Ducks will likely be impressive should he be on hand in Eugene. With the Oregon in need of an LB or two for the class, the depth chart should look attractive to him.

Uncommitted players: WR John Ross, ATH Juwaan Williams

The Ducks have one commit at wide receiver in Darren Carrington, although with an array of versatile commits that number could actually be two or three. The Ducks are likely looking for an ideal number of two although are graduating just one, Rahsaan Vaughn.

Ross could be a possibility for a commit not too far removed from his visit. Since the Ducks could easily stand pat with Carrington, the commitment of another WR before him would probably mean no room left for him.

Williams likely would not feel the time pressure Ross might due to his versatility. Speed, length and versatility seem to be what the Ducks want at all positions so would have an offer for Williams longer than otherwise.
