Reed named regional First Team All-Academic

For the second straight season, University of Oregon senior defensive end Nick Reed have been named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District 8 first team, as voted on by college and university sports information directors throughout the western portion of the United States and Canada.
As a result of the vote by College Sports Information Directors Association (CoSIDA) members in Alaska, Arizona, California, Hawaii, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington, British Columbia and the Yukon, Reed has the opportunity to repeat as a CoSIDA Academic All-America.
Reed, a quarterfinalist for the Lott Trophy this season, has maintained a 3.44 grade point average in History and is scheduled to complete his degree requirements by the end of fall term. The Trabuco Canyon, Calif., product leads the Pac-10 in sacks (eighth nationally) with an average of 1.00 per game, and ranks second in tackles for loss (1.44).
