SAN ANTONIO — Austin Novosad quickly became a priority recruit when Oregon hired Will Stein as its next offensive coordinator. The duo's Texas connections helped pave the way for a speedy recruitment that eventually led to the Rivals100 quarterback prospect taking a visit out to Eugene before coming to a decision about his future close to the early signing period.
Novosad had been committed to Baylor for close to a year when he made the trek out to Eugene, and eventually he decided that fit with the Ducks was simply too perfect for him to pass up on the opportunity.
The chance to work with Stein played a big role in his decision, but the trip out to see Oregon in person also proved to be pivotal in his choice as well.
Novosad signed with the Ducks two weeks ago and is close to wrapping up his high school career as he prepares to take the field for the West team at the All-American Bowl in San Antonio.
The Dripping Springs, Texas standout spent some time after the first day of practices in his home state talking with Duck Sports Authority about his path to the Ducks, his relationship with Stein, what ultimately sold him on the program plus much more.
