Stars to converge on Oregon for Junior Day

Junior Day for the Oregon Duck football program will never be the same as the schools from big populations centers. California, Florida, Texas and numerous other locations are far better-suited for recruiting events which prospects are required by the NCAA to pay for their own travel.

But for 2017 the Ducks are making the most of their opportunity to bring in some of the top regional talent from the Class of 2018 this Saturday in Eugene, Oregon as the new football staff kicks off their first Junior Day with considerable talent coming to town.

The recruiting roll is just starting for Corvallis OL Marco Brewer. In the last week he received his first two D-1 offers, with more sure to come. With his prototypical OL frame and athletic ability Brewer will see his offer numbers rise as more schools see him in camps and on film.

"I am really looking forward to getting to meet the new coaching staff," Brewer told Duck Sports Authority. "I want to be able to show them that I'm a perfect fit. I'm super excited to go, I know it will be a great event. It's weird going through a coaching change with who your getting recruited by, but I'm looking forward to it."

One of several surefire D-1 offensive line prospects in the State this cycle, Jaramillo has an Oregon offer in hand and will have a chance for an in-depth look at the University this weekend.

Rivals250 prospect Braden Lenzy was one of the top northwest targets of the last Oregon staff and that remains true for Taggart and company.

"I just want to get a feel for what it is like to be at Oregon with the new staff," Lenzy told DSA. "I am excited, it's always a cool thing to go to junior Days."

One of two Newbury Park prospects heading north for the Ducks' Junior Day, Madison has four D-1 offers in hand with one from Oregon a distinct possibility.

Committed to Oklahoma, the Ducks clearly think they still have a shot with the Rivals100 prospect, and his trip to Eugene along with teammate Josh Madison lends credibility to that idea.

Salu does not currently have any D-1 offers, but will certainly get some coming from an excellent program with the right size and speed for a college middle linebacker.

Of all positions, tight end is the one the Ducks have the biggest depth chart gap in for 2017. Oregon will likely take several in the Class of 2018 and Quitoriano is the State's best.
