After the Spring Game fireworks that saw the Ducks skyrocket into the top 15 in recruiting with eight commits, things have been slow around the Hatfield Dowlin football operations building. That all changed Thursday night when Oregon added their tenth known verbal commitment.

Jonathan King, a three star defensive end from Tampa Bay Tech, picked the Ducks over a host of other programs including Florida and Miami. At 6-3 and 230 pounds, King has an explosive first step and plays with good finesse on the edge.

Oregon linebacker and special teams coach Ray Woodie has been recruiting King for a while. In fact he was the first coach to offer King when he was still at USF. Woodie has been excited about King for some time and was working hard throughout the Spring to make up ground on the home state Florida Gators.

On Thursday night those efforts paid some major dividends for Woodie and the Ducks.
