Oregon will be well-represented when 67 of the top NBA prospects convene for the 2017 Draft Combine at Chicago’s Quest Multisport on Thursday May 11 and Friday May 12. Four Ducks will have a chance to show off their strength, agility and five-on-five skills during this big step in the NBA draft process.
Senior Chris Boucher, juniors Dillon Brooks and Jordan Bell along with sophomore Tyler Dorsey look to catch the eye of the multitude of scouts in attendance.
Projections for the Duck foursome are quite varied depending on where you look at the various mock drafts. Overall their prospects can be summed up:
Chris Boucher – Late second round to undrafted – Raw talent, unteachable length, scary interior defense with some shooting range, rapid improvement in the last two years.
Dillon Brooks – Second round – Scorer who can get to the rim at the college level. Will that translate? Clutch shooter. Currently No. 9 SF in the draft.
Tyler Dorsey – Second round to undrafted – Good talent with abilities on both ends of the court, in a size-range crowded with NBA prospects.
Jordan Bell – Late first to second round – Rapid improvement on offense in the last year, NBA-quality interior defender and rebounder. Currently No. 10 PF in the draft.
These projections could, of course, prove meaningless. The four Ducks have every chance to improve (or hurt!) their stock over the next two days as they match up against some of the world’s best non-NBA players.
