Oregon will have an opportunity to put the icing on its Class of 2019 cake this weekend when they play host to an excellent group of athletes on the final weekend heading into national signing day.
One of the crucial official visitors will be Orem (Utah) wide reciever Puka Nacua, a USC commit who landed an Oregon offer and has ties to Penei and Noah Sewell.
DSA's Scott Reed caught up with him at the Polynesian Bowl in Honolulu last month and got his thoughts on the Ducks.
“Penei has been kind of my main contact out there, but I want to see what it feels like in Eugene when I get out there. Penei says he really loves the community and the campus. Everyone has been great so far to him and he has had a great experience so far in Eugene.”
Graduate transfer candidate Juwan Johnson will be taking a visit to Oregon as well this weekend as the Ducks look to add to their wide receiver firepower for 2019. Johnson did not have the junior season he hoped for at Penn State last season with diploma in hand, is looking for a fresh start with Eugene being one of his top choices.
Unofficial visitors
The Ducks will also have unofficial visits from some of the top players the northwest has to offer. The 2019 class is largely full with the two prospects mentioned above as the most likely additions to it. With 25 commitments to that class in hand, the staff has more time to devote towards future classes and host three families of some of their top regional targets.
