Norco football 2018 – Junior season

- Overall record 9-3

- No. 21 ranked team in California

On defense as a junior Norco used him as a DE/OLB hybrid. He showed great quickness for his length and offensive tackles had a hard time with his speed rush.

He also showed a developing spin move that he was able to use on occasion to shed the initial blocker. Was relentless when they sent him after the quarterback.

On offense they used him in various formations as a wide receiver, sometimes in sort of an inside slot position. From that slot position they liked to use him as a lead blocker in which did an excellent job taking out the linebacker.

They also lined him up on occasion as a tight end. He was most effective in the red zone using his size to his advantage over the defensive backs.

Norco Football 2019 – Senior season

- Overall record 8-3

- No. 39 ranked team in California

The biggest developments between his junior and senior film is more physicality. On defense Norco used him as both a stand up DE in even fronts and as a SDE from a four-point stance on their three-man front. He also refined his spin move, made it a little tighter and quicker. But as a senior the tackles had to respect that he could bull rush too.

On offense Norco tried to find ways to get him the ball lining him up all over the place from TE on out to WR. He was particularly effective finding holes in zones down near the goal line, but also abused many smaller cornerbacks when they did not have help over the top.

Analysis:

Jaden Navarrette is overall a very good athlete who projects best as an outside linebacker for the Ducks. He has the tools to be an excellent pass rusher but also is nimble enough to help in coverage. He has the versatility to play offense if needed, particularly as a big target in the red zone with a good nose for finding space and getting open.
