WR Week Top Trio: Recruiting Targets

Duck Sports Authority kicks off its Wide Receiver Theme Week with a look at the top recruiting targets at the position for the Class of 2018. DSA analysts Brandon Gibson, A.J. Jacobson, Dale Newton and Scott Reed voted for their choices and something very rare happened.

Everybody agreed.

All the ballots came back identical with these three 2018 WR targets, in this order:

#1: Chase Cota

This would be exhibit 'A' in "building a wall around the State". If Taggart and staff cannot land Cota, son of an Oregon great, cousin of a current Duck, the wall is in a sorry state of repairs. Chase has been to Autzen countless times over the years for games and other unofficial visits.

This is not to say his signature is a slam-dunk.

The entire Pac-12 has offered along with Notre Dame, Alabama and others. The Irish offer has certainly intrigued the Oregon native and you never know what Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide have up their sleeves.

But if the new Oregon coaching staff is going to land one in-state recruit for 2018 cycle, it probably needs to be Chase Cota.

#2: Jaylen Waddle

Taking a look at the offer sheet for this Lone Star State playmaker takes a bit of scrolling on ones computer. National title contenders from coast-to-coast have thrown their hats in the ring for this Rivals250 prospect.

Waddle will be narrowing his list down to ten soon and the Ducks are in good position to be on it. Next up will be convincing him to take an official visit, something we think is likely to happen.

#3: Isaah Crocker

Rivals100 honoree Isaah Crocker released a Top 10 two weeks ago consisting of USC, Notre Dame, Nebraska, Oregon, Utah, Oregon State, UCLA and Cal. Some speculate Oregon State or Cal have an inside track for Crocker but once he takes his visits, that could easily change.

Oregon would love to add this lengthy wideout and will have a serious shot at his services before his recruitment is over.
